"Two Feet from Home" came from a real moment in my military journey. Coming home wasn't easy. The transition, the memories, trying to find your place again. "Every inch is a victoryIn a war no one can see."—that's what I felt when I first stepped back on American soil. This song is for every veteran who's made that journey, for every family that waited, for every moment of coming back to the life you left behind.
I've heard from so many veterans and active-duty members who connect with this song. That's what makes it worth it—knowing that our shared experiences, our stories, can bring us together.
We serve with honor, we live with purpose, and we tell our stories so others know they're not alone.
I'm grateful for every moment that led to this song, for every person who's been part of this journey, and for the community of veterans and military families who support each other.
This is more than a song—it's our story. And I'm honored to share it with you.
Coming Home: The Story Behind "Two Feet from Home"
(Original concept — about being almost healed, almost okay) Verse 1 Therapist says I’m close this time,Two feet from crossing that healing line.Every panic now fades in half,Every breakdown ends with a laugh. But damn, two feet feels far as hellWhen your mind’s still stuck in a mortar shell.Healing’s a hallway I’m walking slow—Two feet in front of the me you know. Verse 2 My girl says, “Baby, just breathe and stay.A journey’s a journey, take your day.”I nod but sometimes slip and fall,Hit my knees against the wall. But two feet’s closer than where I’ve been,Two feet from letting light seep in.Two feet from laying the past to rest,Two feet from feeling blessed. Pre-Chorus Every inch is a victoryIn a war no one can see. Chorus I’m two feet from home,From standing strong, from being whole. Two feet from the man I’ll be,Two feet from letting myself free.I ain’t there yet, but I ain’t alone—I’m two feet…From home. Bridge One breath, one step—I’ll get there yet.
