Every time someone says "thank you for your service," I never know how to respond. Part of me appreciates it, but another part feels... awkward? Like they're checking a box without really connecting.
I usually just say "thank you" and move on, but it always feels incomplete.
How do you handle this?
- Do you have a go-to response?
- Does it get easier over time?
- How do you turn it into a real conversation if you want to?
- Or do you prefer to keep it brief?
I'm genuinely curious how others navigate these interactions. No judgment, just want to hear different perspectives.
