After 20 years of active duty, I'm finally transitioning to civilian life. The paperwork is done, but emotionally? That's a whole different story.
I've been the Army guy for so long, I'm not sure who I am without it.
Looking for advice on:
- How to build a new identity outside the uniform
- Tips for translating military skills to civilian jobs
- How to stay connected to the military community
- Managing the emotional side of this transition
Anyone else been through this? What helped you the most?
The Riley Roll songs about homecoming and transition have been keeping me company during this time.
